Hotline also need volunteers for 12 step calls, 6 months sobriety required, always should go in pairs.

The Lake County Alcoholics Anonymous Hotline is a very active service opportunity. We get a wide variety of calls ranging from people that are in town for a visit and are looking for a meeting, to people that are sick and tired and want to stop drinking. Our volunteers are provided with as much information as possible, in order to handle virtually any situation that arises.
The Hotline uses the call forwarding system to connect the Hotline number to the volunteers home or cell number. To be of service on the Hotline all you need is a phone, some time and a commitment to service. The minimum recommended time of sobriety is 6 months. The length of service is open, as long as you are sober you can be of service. There are four shifts in a twenty- four hour period; 8AM-Noon, Noon-4PM, 4PM-8PM and 8PM-8AM. The 8 to 8 shift seems long but you rarely get calls during that time period; when you do they can be very interesting and worth while. We also have a new position available on the Hotline that is the position of temporary relief volunteer. This position is for those of you that don’t want a permanent time frame but could help out for a brief period of a week to a month.
